He graduated in 1995 (MBBS) from the NSCB Medical College, Madhya Pradesh, and completed his post-graduation (MD) in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine from JIPMER, Pondicherry, which has been declared as a premier Institution of National Importance  (INI) by the act of Indian parliament. He passed with distinction in his super specialty residency training program in Critical Care Medicine (DM) from one of the most reputed Medical Colleges in India, St Johns Medical College and Hospital Bangalore, India.

Dr. Alai’s other additional qualifications include, (IDCCM) Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine, (EDIC) European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine, Certification in Diagnostic, Interventional Ultrasonography and Basic Upper GI Endoscopy and bronchoscopy.
