General & Laparoscopic Surgery

General Surgeons perform consultation and surgery on medical conditions involving the endocrine system, gastrointestinal tract, breasts, colon, and rectum. The Specialist General Surgeons at Aster Hospital Mankhool work closely with other specialists involved in each patient’s care to diagnose and provide timely surgical interventions for complex conditions. Furthermore the Specialist Surgeons at Aster Hospital Mankhool are also well equipped to conduct simple and complex laparoscopic surgeries.

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS) or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed by making a small incision (usually 0.5 cm – 1.5 cm) in the body. The procedure utilizes an instrument called laparoscope, which is a thin, long tube with a high-intensity light and a high resolution camera at the front. As it moves along, the camera sends the video to a monitor, looking at which the specialist surgeons carry out the procedure. The unit provides advanced laparoscopic surgery to treat diseases such as gallstones, hernia (inguinal, umbilical, ventral), appendicitis, intestinal and colorectal tumors. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure with early mobilization, less recovery time and a faster return to work.

At Aster Hospital Mankhool, we believe that patients and their families should have access to high quality healthcare at a center that they trust.
