Dr. Rahul Tugnait is working as a Specialist in General Surgery at Aster Hospital, Mankhool. Gaining more than 15 years of medical expertise, he did his PG Residency in General Surgery at the Government Medical College, Punjab, India – a 1500 bed facility. He headed a team of 50 members (junior residents, interns, nurses, and OT technicians.) during his period there.
He was then serving at the Northern Railway Divisional Hospital in Punjab followed by a reassignment to Delhi as the HOD of the Department of Surgery until 2009. He then served as HOU of the department of surgery at the Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi where he managed a busy department with a caseload of approximately 200 patients a day, and 140 surgeries per month.
Upon completing his specialization in general surgery in the year 2006, he obtained fellowships from Indian Association of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgery as well as Minimal Access Surgeons of India in 2012 and 2013 respectively. He went on to obtain a membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in England in the year 2014. He is a member of Gujarat Medical Council, Delhi Medical Council, Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of India, and the India Hernia Society.
His interest in academics and research have led him to have various publications to his credit. He was actively involved in teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students at the Northern Railway Central Hospital which is an accredited training institute in DNB General Surgery. He is a participant at various medical conferences. He is certified in ATLS, ACLS, BLS, and advanced laparoscopic procedures.
His procedural skills include general and laparoscopic surgeries, gastrointestinal surgeries, plastic surgeries, urological procedures, onco-surgeries as well as vascular surgeries.
