Dr. Alai Taggu is a Specialist Physician and the Head of Department of Critical Care Medicine at Aster Hospital Mankhool, Dubai. He graduated in 1995 (MBBS) from the NSCB Medical College, Madhya Pradesh, and completed his post-graduation (MD) in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine from JIPMER, Pondicherry, which has been declared as a premier Institution of National Importance (INI) by the act of Indian parliament. He passed with distinction in his super specialty residency training program in Critical Care Medicine (DM) from one of the most reputed Medical Colleges in India, St Johns Medical College and Hospital Bangalore, India.
Dr. Alai’s other additional qualifications include, (IDCCM) Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine, (EDIC) European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine, Certification in Diagnostic, Interventional Ultrasonography and Basic Upper GI Endoscopy and bronchoscopy.
He has extensive experience in the field of Critical Care Medicine. He was previously the Head of Department of Critical Care Medicine (Associate Professor) at the University Hospital MGM College and Research Institute, Pondicherry and was responsible for starting the Department of Critical Care Medicine and led the organisation in various national fellowship programs for the budding young postgraduate doctors. His other academic posts in various renowned institutions include, Asst. Professor Critical Care Medicine at Sri Ramachandra Medical College University Hospital, Chennai and Post Graduate Tutor (ICU) at Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore, Tamil Nadu,India.
He is a certified American Heart Association endorsed instructor in the ACLS and BLS. Dr Alai is also an instructor for the internationally recognised Critical Care Medicine course –BASIC-under the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is ATLS certified and has been marked as a potential Instructor. Dr. Alai is also an accredited teacher for the ISCCM run courses in India.

Dr. Abdul Majeed has joined Aster Hospital Mankhool as a Specialist Paediatrician. He completed his Fellowship in Neonatology from Amrita Institute of Medical sciences, Kochi, Kerala, India in the year 2014. He is trained to provide specialised medical support for neonates. His fields of special interests include care for high risk new-borns like ELBW & PPHN babies, post-operative care of neonates, new-born resuscitation, different modes of ventilation of neonates –non-invasive, invasive and HFO, advanced life-support procedures including nitric oxide administration and transport of critically ill babies. Dr. Abdul is proficient in languages like English, Malayalam, Hindi and Arabic.
Ms. Justin has joined Aster Hospital Mankhool as a Physiotherapist. She completed her BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) in 2005 from Manipal Academy, Karnataka, India. She is also a certified aerobic training instructor from Indian Academy of fitness Training.
Dr. Sharad has joined Aster Hospital Mankhool as a Specialist Radiologist. He has completed his MBBS from BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, India and MD from NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad, India.
Dr. Syed has joined Aster Hospital Mankhool as a General Practitioner in Emergency Department. He completed his MBBS from Tver State Medical Academy, Russia. Dr. Amith Kumar has joined Aster Hospital Mankhool as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon . He has done his MS and MBBS in Orthopedics. He brings with him over a decade long experience in treating injuries of joints and their associated soft tissues, including ligaments, nerves, and muscles. He has also attended to cases related to fractures, joint disabilities, back pains, ligament tears, sports related injuries, arthritis, foot and ankle deformities amongst others. His areas of special interest are traumatology, replacement arthroplasty, arthroscopy.
He has been a teaching faculty at several leading institutes in India and has taught intricacies of effectively managing trauma to doctors, occupational therapists, nurses and paramedical students. He has leveraged his experience of over 2000 surgeries in trauma and nearly quarter of that in joint replacement to extend greater hands on knowledge to his colleagues in the medical arena.
Dr. Angel has joined Aster Hospital Mankhool as a General Practitioner in Paediatrics department. She completed her DNB in Paediatrics in the year 2016 and MD from Government Medical College, Calicut, Kerala in the year 2015. His work is focused on the assessment and management of congenital and acquired heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias. He masters performing and the interpretation of cardiac investigations: Echocardiography, ECG, Holter monitor, Exercise ECG etc
He is a full-time paediatric cardiologist in Latifa Hospital, the first ever and oldest paediatric cardiology centre in UAE. In addition, Dr. Sameer is affiliated to most of the major hospital in Dubai, to provide emergency consultations and receives a referral of paediatric cardiology cases.
He is a founding member of the Nabadat initiative, which provides paediatric cardiac services worldwide in collaboration with Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Charity and Humanitarian Establishment.
